Electrification in BaxterWhere most Baxter homes already are
Many Baxter households are part way there without calling it electrification. Some have solar. Some have a split system for summer. Our written-up Baxter job added solar, a battery and heat pump hot water in one go. What usually remains is the heating, which on the acreage tends to be wood or LPG, the cooktop, and later an EV charger.
Baxter sits inland, and winter mornings here are colder than on the bay, so heating is the stage we size most carefully. In township homes with a roof space, ducted reverse cycle on new R1.5 insulated ducts covers the house. Homes that have been extended, or have raked ceilings, often suit a multi-head or several splits. Reverse cycle heats for around a third of the running cost of gas heating.
Before any of it, we look at the boards. Older township houses can have an original switchboard, and acreage properties often have sub-boards in sheds. Our home electrification Baxter plans start there, then set out each step in order with its own price. More on our local work is on the Baxter page.
