Electrification in Mount MarthaDone here, twice over
Home electrification Mount Martha owners ask about usually starts with what the house runs on. Mains gas reaches parts of the suburb and not others, so one home has ducted gas heating and a gas cooktop while the next is on LPG or already mostly electric. Some homes heat with a gas wall furnace in the hallway or living room, while the estate homes more often have ducted gas.
We have done the full switch here on two written-up homes. In one, heating, hot water and cooking all went electric and the gas line was removed, with 15.2kW of solar and a 24.18kWh battery installed in one day, and the monthly bill went from $302 to $148. In the other, a hallway gas wall furnace made way for reverse cycle, an Emerald heat pump took over the hot water and the switchboard was upgraded with every circuit labelled.
Mount Martha also has strong solar uptake, so many homes start with panels already up. Sometimes that array is enough for the electric house, and often it was sized before anyone planned on reverse cycle heating or an EV. We check the roof, the switchboard and the gas appliances together and write one plan, alongside our other work in Mount Martha.
